COLUMBIA, TN (May 6, 2024) – The Lady Bucks take a loss to No. 3 seed Dyersburg State in the TCCAA Region 7 Tournament Sunday afternoon.
The scoring started early for Motlow as Hannah Foster hit a homerun in the top of the 1st inning. Dyersburg State was unable to score in the bottom of the 1st and top of the 2nd. The scoring continued for the Lady Bucks as Carli Warner hit to right field, bringing Mallory Williams in for the second run of the game.
Dyersburg State’s scoring started in the bottom of the 4th by a 2 single RBI by Ramsey and McDaniel. Bu the end of the 4th inning, the game was tied 2-2.
In the top of the 5th, Kennadee Lawrence hit a single with Foster scoring. The Lady Bucks were up 3-2. Dyersburg State took the victory as Camp hit a home run, bringing in another runner with her, ending the game 4-3.
Foster had 2 runs and 1 RBI, and Williams scored one run. Warner and Lawrence each had 1 RBI.
Since the tournament is double elimination, the Lady Bucks still have a chance to advance to the championship. With the loss, Motlow will enter the loser’s bracket and play the loser of Roane State and Chattanooga State on Monday, May 6 at 5:30.
