Bucks Beat Chargers in Columbia

Sophomore Alba Embid scored the game's only goal on an assist from freshman Libby Vincent as the Motlow Bucks beat TCCAA rival Columbia State 1-0 Thursday in Columbia.

Motlow (3-0, 7-1-1) has now won seven straight matches, five by shutout, and is alone at the top of the TCCAA standings.

The Bucks return home Sunday, hosting Southwest Tennessee at 11 a.m. Admission is $6.

Embid's goal came 68 minutes into the contest. Outside that scoring play, the two teams battled it out on the pitch, with Motlow getting off a dozen shots and the Chargers 11.

Each team had four saves, with freshman Arlina Arneth logging 87 minutes and sophomore Leigha Resendiz three minutes at goalkeeper for Motlow.

Freshman Camden Prosser led the Bucks with four shots, including three on goal.
